RC Aviation is my passion
Starting in 2013 with the Nano QX quadcopter I found a special kind of joy I have never experienced before. This small drone opened up a whole community and life in the RC aviation hobbies. The next year, 2014, I started a job at the local hobby store. Working here showed me how not only could I enjoy the RC hobbies but I could share the fun with people of all ages and watch new people grow and find joy with their loved ones.
First Person View
In mid-2016 I was introduced to first person view flying. This also lead me to the ReadyMadeRC FPV Fest 2016. I could barely keep a drone in the air but the other pilots there did everything they could to make it a great time. The fellowship of all the people in the weekend at the airport is what showed me what the real hobby is about.
Growing Deeper
The next year I was invited to an event held in the hills of west Ohio. Flite Fest 2017 showed me what the hobby can be. At this event there were thousands of people all with the same goals to learn, create, experiment and fellowship. This week long event has created the best memories of my life. Every year when dates for Flite Fest are announced, all other plans go on hold.
The Future
Over these past years I have learned that there is so much more to this hobby than just flying a plane. This hobby has introduced me to some of the kindest people and life long friends. I have learned skills ranging from electronics development, video editing, aerodynamic theory, programming and creating anything from almost nothing. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
